The highlight at every party is the cake. At my babyparty I made a babyblue layer cake made of bisquit and lemon cream. Covered with white fondant, a blue fondant ribbon and glittering, silver cake topper.

Ingredients (per cake base) – (I used 5 cake bases)

100 g powdered sugar

3 eggs

100 g flour

1 tsp. baking powder

for the cream:

500 g mascarpone

500 g curd

75 g sugar

50 g vanilla sugar

3 tbs. contreau

5 packagaes white fondant

Preparation:

Beat the eggs with the powdered sugar for a few minutes. Stir in the powder and the baking powder.  Mix it with blue food color and fill it in a baking dish (24 cm diameter) for 20 – 25 minutes at 170° degrees. Put less food color in the dough for a color flow. Put one baked pastry cases above the other.

For the cream: Mix all ingredients with the liquid whipping cream and beat it for a few minutes until it´s a stiffy mass.

Prepare the fondant according to package instructions and coat the cake with the fondant. Knead the rest again and color it with blue food color. Make a big ribbon and decorate the cake with it. If you want decorate the cake with some fondant rectangles or rolls.

Make a cake topper out of glittering, silver paper and decorate the cake with it.
