A very warm welcome to my austrian Food- and Lifestyleblog. My name ist Catrin Neumayer, better known as cookingCatrin. I’m 29 years old and was born in Lungau {Salzburg}. Since a few years i am living in Carinthia, the sunny southside of Austria. I studied Media and Communications and worked for a big austrian energydrink company before i was responsible for the marketing section of an international watch manufacturer company. During my pregnancy with my son Matteo in 2014, I officially started my foodblog Today i work as a foodblogger, foodstylist and editor for print- and onlinemagazines, national and international companies, give cooking classes and teach at the University of Klagenfurt about marketing, media and communications as well as a writer of my own cookbook “ECHT.FESCH.GEKOCHT.”

For me as a passionate hobby-cook cooking and baking are „kitchenyoga“. I’d love to take you with me on culinary expeditions. My blog is all about recipes out of the austrian and mediterran kitchen. Especially the austrian kitchen with it’s many many traditional recipes has to be shared with the future generations. I love experimenting with traditional recipes and readapting them to new, modern meals, so there’s a perfect crossover between tradition and modernity. My motto is:

2012: become CookingChampion 2012 beside Helmut Österreicher (Chef of the century); organize a wunderful summer party with the Barbeque worldchampion Adi Matzek

2013: spending a wonderful day joining a cooking class with the sons of Johanna Maier in Filzmoos and getting skills for molecular gastronomy

2014: joining the Top 6 german foodblogs – TOP 6 AMA Food Blog Award 2014 in the category Veggie & the most popular german Foodblogs

2015: so many awesome things! First cooking shows and appearences on messes. Matteo’s Kirchtag-baptism. Again nomination fort he Ama Food Blog Award in the categories local recipes & kick off with Isabella Floristik special event- and seasonal decorating

2016: just began sensational: German Food Blog Contest 2nd place and AMA Food Blog Award 1st place, starting with my own cookbook ECHT.FESCH.GEKOCHT and making a dream come true: our own cookery studio Die Kuchl!

Cooking and all about cooking is my favourite activity. It helped me getting in contact with wonderful people, gave me great friendships and wonderful moments and im very thankful for that.
